ROCK THE ROAD!

TOUR OF IRELAND WITH

SEAMUS KELLEHER

June 6 - 14, 2027

Come join me, Seamus Kelleher, for another unforgettable journey through Ireland as we Rock the Road across Northern Ireland and be-yond.

This is not your typical tour ~ you’ll experience an Ireland that most visitors never get to see. We’ll travel off the beaten track, meet the incredibly friendly locals, and visit many of the places I grew up exploring as a young man.

Along the way, we’ll take in breathtaking scenery, discover hidden gems, and experience the deep traditions and rich heritage of ancient Celtic Ireland.

There will be music, music and more music!

Along the way, I’ll be doing several performances and intimate sessions featuring some of Ireland’s finest musicians, from traditional Irish and folk music to the world of rock—think Van Morrison, the Cranberries, Thin Lizzy, U2, the Saw Doctors and of course my all-time hero Rory Gallagher.

I can’t wait to share my Ireland with you and create memories together that will last a lifetime.

Rock The Road Itinerary

I’m so excited that you are considering joining me on my 2027 Rock the Road to Ireland tour. I truly believe this will be a special experience filled with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. Here’s a detailed look at what you can expect from beginning to end. Of course, due to weather or unforeseen events, we may adjust some activities as needed.

Many guests choose to arrive in Dublin a day early, and I highly recommend it. Arriving early gives you time to relax, adjust to the time change and get over the jet lag which helps make the first day of the tour more enjoyable.

Sunday, June 6, 2027 ~ Dublin to Belfast
Meet at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities before meeting your CIE Tours driver/guide and myself as we welcome you to Ireland. Have a full Irish break-fast and get to know your fellow travelers at a local venue before setting off with a local guide who will show you around Dublin. Travel into Dunelty to visit the Brehon Brewhouse, which was founded by Dairy Farmer Seamus McMahon in 2014. While here, enjoy a tour of the brewery followed by a tasting of the finished product. Then we travel north to visit the Titanic Belfast museum as we embark on a journey through the life of the Titanic, from her conception in Belfast to her tragic end. Enjoy some free time back at the Europa hotel to freshen up before joining your fellow travelers for a welcome drink. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure for individual pursuits. This evening, we gather to enjoy our wel-come dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Monday, June 7, 2027 ~ Belfast
After a hearty breakfast, we set off on a guided tour of Belfast to see the Albert Memorial, the Opera House and Crown Liquor Saloon. We will visit some of the neighborhoods where the “Troubles” raged for thirty years. Then we ride along the coast to experience one of Ireland's popular scenic routes. You'll see the "Nine Glens of Antrim.” This scenic drive offers awe inspiring views of mountains, forests, valleys, and shoreline. Stop to visit the Giant's Causeway, an impressive area of hexagonal columns formed over 60 million years ago by cooling lava. The story goes that Irish giant Fionn mac Cumhaill was chal-lenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner, and the causeway was built as a meeting point for the two. Later, we head to the beautiful town of Derry where we check into our hotel and freshen up before heading to the Walled City Brewery for a splendid group dinner. There will be a session after dinner with some local musicians at a local pub.

Tuesday, June 8, 2027 ~ Derry
My good friend and Derry native Rory O’ Hara will take us on a walking tour to see the Guildhall, St. Columb’s Cathedral, the Diamond and the 16th century walls. After Derry we journey on to Donegal where we visit Donegal Castle, a 15th century castle with a gabled tower built by the O' Donnell clan. Visit Hanna Hats, world famous for their tweed hats, woven wool, and other fine apparel. After checking into the beautiful Sandhouse Hotel & Spa and taking some time to relax and enjoy the spectacular ocean views, we gather with your group to enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Wednesday, June 9, 2027 ~ Slieve League
Visit the Slieve League Sea Cliffs, where the highest point reaches 1,972 feet making them the highest in Europe. Enjoy a cup of tea and freshly baked scones. Experience the history and witness the skill and craft that has gone into Donegal Tweed for generations. Nestled in the picturesque town of Ardara, you will find the hidden gem that is Triona Donegal Tweed Visitor Centre. Enjoy some time at leisure in the busy shopping town of Donegal. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure for individual pursuits and dining. We will finish the day in Ballyshannon (Ten minutes from our hotel), where I’ll do a special tribute to my guitar hero Rory Gallagher who was born in the Rock Hospital in Ballyshannon.
Jimi Hendrix called Rory one of his favorite players as did Brian May, Slash and many others. I’ll be joined by Dino McGartland, a fabulous guitar player and the undisputed expert on all things Rory Gallagher.

Thursday, June 10, 2027 ~ Quiet Man ~ Trad on the Prom
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Cong where The Quiet Man was filmed in 1952. The tour features many of the locations in the movie. You may wish to visit The Quiet Man Museum as well. Later in the day when we travel to Galway and after checking into the Ardilaun Hotel we will enjoy a dinner with our group. Now the magic happens as we head to Salthill to enjoy an unforgettable entertainment experience at Trad on the Prom show. The music will touch your soul and the dancing will take your breath away. It's a truly remarkable experience. Trad on the Prom showcases the amazing talents of legendary trad musician Máirín Fahy, the featured soloist with Riverdance and The Chieftains. Each night Máirín is joined on stage by an amazing selection of guest musicians and dancers. The show also features an outstanding array of World Champion Irish dancers.

Friday, June 11, 2027 ~ Aran Islands & Dun Aengus
After a full Irish breakfast in our hotel, we take a short ferry ride along the spectacular Connemara Coast to Rossaveal Harbor where we take a short ferry ride to Inis Mor, the largest of the three Aran Islands. These rocky islands are renowned for the hardy islanders who maintained traditional fishing and farming. The Irish language is still spoken widely. Next, take a minibus ride to Dun Aengus, a huge pre-historic fortress perched on sheer cliffs atop the island, which fall away to the Atlantic Ocean below. Have a look around Kilronan and enjoy some shopping for those special Aran sweaters knitted by hand by the islanders before heading to the pub for a few pints and songs before returning to Galway.

Saturday, June 12, 2027 ~ Galway
Join one of my best friends Brian Nolan for a gentle walking tour of Galway. Brian is a wealth of knowledge and he is also a comedian. He has some stories to tell about my early music adventures and miss-adventures in Galway. You might have to throw him a few $$ to get the juicy stuff! See medieval city walls, Lynch's Castle and narrow streets. Spend the balance of the day free to sightsee, shop, and dine on your own before joining me for a full band show that evening at the legendary Quays Bar. There is nothing like a Saturday afternoon and evening in Galway. The town is full of buskers and all kinds of street per-formers. I could tell you where to go but experience has taught me to let you find your own magic moments in my beautiful hometown. Saturday in Galway City is always a high point of my tours.

Sunday, June 13, 2027 ~ Dublin Panoramic
Enjoy Ireland’s spectacular scenery as we journey into the bustling city of Dublin. Take an orientation drive around Dublin city center. Dublin is one of the liveliest capitals in Europe but there are plenty of historical places also. See the main thoroughfares of O' Connell Street and Nassau Street, the shopping streets and some lovely public parks. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon to relax, shop, or sightsee on your own. Using your voucher, you may either visit the EPIC Ireland or Guinness Storehouse. There are also plenty of museums and shops you may like to visit. I’ll point you in the right direction. This evening, gather with your group for a farewell dinner and tunes in the hotel restaurant.

Monday, June 14, 2027 ~ Return to the United States
All too soon, your vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight.
