Rock The Road Itinerary
Sun, June 7 - Depart for Dublin, Ireland
I’m so happy you’re considering joining me on my 2026 Rock the Road to Ireland trip. I promise it will be something very special with memories to last a lifetime.
Here’s what to expect from start to finish: Depart your hometown taking an overnight flight across the Atlantic enjoying in-flight entertainment and meal service as you start your vacation in style. A lot of folks on my trip get to Dublin a day early and I highly recommend doing so as it helps avoid jet lag on the first day.
Mon, June 8 - Dublin Arrival
After landing at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. Your CIE Tours guide and I will welcome you to Ireland and escort you and your luggage to our waiting coach.
We’ll have breakfast with our group and get to know each other a little at a local restaurant or pub—it’s always Five O’ Clock somewhere in Ireland.
We continue our travels through Ireland’s rolling hills to Killarney and check into our hotel. In the evening, I’ll host a delightful welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant. The days are long in June (sunset at 10pm) so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the nightlife in town after dinner.
Tue, June 9 - Dingle Peninsula Drive
After a hearty Irish Breakfast, spend the morning exploring the charming town of Killarney independently. In the late morning, we set off to discover the beauties of the Dingle Peninsula, once described by the National Geographic Traveler as “the most beautiful place on earth.”
We get to Dingle mid-afternoon. You can explore the beauty of Dingle and grab a bite to eat in an amazing assortment of restaurants before joining me for my first concert of the tour right in the center of town. My dad was from Dingle so it has a special place in my heart. You’ll meet my cousins who are all great historians and they’ll share their unique insight to this beautiful part of the world.
Wed, June 10 - Cliffs of Moher
Leaving Killarney, we head to the port of Tarbert and take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary. We then pass along the coast of scenic County Clare to visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most iconic and beloved natural landmarks.
We continue our journey along the beautiful coast into Galway and join a local guide and a dear friend of mine, Brian Nolan, for a fun walking tour of the city. In addition to being a great tour guide, Brian is a comedian and has way too many funny stories about me starting my musical journey in Galway.
We’ll unveil a plaque that says “Seamus Kelleher Slept Here” at my birthplace in the middle of town since no one else has done it. You’ll see the medieval city walls, Lynch’s Castle and the beautiful winding narrow streets of my town. The city is just a short distance from our hotel where we’ll check in and spend some time relaxing before dining in the hotel restaurant with our group.
Thu, June 11 - Kylemore Abbey
This morning, we visit Kylemore Abbey for a tour of the elegant mansion and church set beside a tranquil lake. Learn of the tales of tragedy, romance and royal visits. Walk through the magical Victorian walled garden. Next, it’s the coastal town of Clifden where we’ll have ample time to walk the beautiful town and eat at a local restaurant. I’ll be joined by some friends for an acoustic show in the town center. After Clifden, we return to Galway where you have the remainder of the afternoon free to explore and dine as you wish.
After an independent dinner, it’s out for a night of Irish entertainment at Trad on the Prom, an extravaganza which features the best of Irish music, song and dance. This show features many of the star performers from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. It’s the most requested and highest rated event during my tours.

Fri, June 12 - Aran Islands & Dun Aengus
After breakfast, we set off on a short ferry ride from the port of Rossaveal to Inis Mor, the largest of the three Aran Islands. These rocky islands are renowned for the hardy islanders who maintained traditional fishing, farming and the native Gaelic language. We’ll take a mini-bus ride to Dun Aengus, a huge pre-historic fortress perched on sheer cliffs which fall away to the Atlantic Ocean below.
After a walk around the village of Kilronan, where you can get the original Aran sweaters made on the island, we gather in a local pub for a farewell drink or two and a few songs before heading back to our hotel in Galway for a free evening.
Sat, June 13 - Galway At Leisure
Spend the entire day free to explore Galway. I’ll provide suggestions on the hidden gems in my hometown that you don’t see in the tour books.
Saturday in Galway is unlike anything you have ever experienced. It’s a festival atmosphere where the streets are full of buskers (musicians) and many of the bars have music in the afternoon. Trust me when I say you will find your own magic in my hometown.
In the evening, dine at your leisure at one of the hun-dreds of restaurants and bars in Galway before joining me for a full band concert at one of the town’s local venues.
Sun, June 14 - Galway to Dublin
Departing Galway, we travel across Ireland’s midlands into the greater metropolitan area of Dublin. Upon arrival, stop to tour the Guinness Storehouse and see exhibits on how this world-famous stout was first created and why it’s so popular today—I’m thirsty just talking about it. Finish your visit in the roof-top bar where you can sample a draft of Guinness.
Then it’s off to our nearby hotel where we check in and spend the balance of the day free for independent exploring and dining. Once again, I will provide loads of suggestions on where to go. There might even be an impromptu music session. You never know in Dublin.
Mon, June 15 - Dublin at Leisure
"More free time in Dublin” is one of the most common requests on my tours so that’s exactly what we are doing on this Rock the Road tour.
Enjoy the morning and afternoon completely at leisure to relax or sightsee and explore Dublin. There are plenty of museums of Irish interest such as the National Museum, the National Gallery or Epic Ireland. There are also wonderful shops along Nassau Street and the pedestrianized Grafton Street or Henry Street where you can buy gifts for those not lucky enough to make the trip.
You may like to explore the vibrant and always hopping Temple Bar area or visit some of the traditional pubs before gathering with our group to enjoy a wonderful farewell dinner at a local venue.
Tue, June 16 - Return to the United States
All too soon, your vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight. You may do some last-minute shopping at the many duty-free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to the United States reliving the wonderful memo-ries you have made during our 2026 Rock the Road tour.
