Rock The Road Itinerary
Sun, June 11 - Depart for Dublin, Ireland
Depart for Ireland on an overnight flight. If you need help with your air travel, call Anne at 201-370-2443.
Mon, June 12 - Dublin Arrival & Medieval Kilkenny
Upon arrival in Dublin, our driver and I will be there to welcome you. We’ll stop nearby for a full Irish breakfast, before driving south to Kilkenny where a local guide will take us on a walking tour of this Medieval city.
We’ll visit Kilkenny Castle and learn about it’s rich history before a welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Tue, June 13 - Dungarvan & Cobh Heritage Centre
Leaving Kilkenny, we’ll travel to Dungarvan and stop at the Marine Bar for an Irish coffee. Then, we visit the Cobh Heritage Center, which depicts the history of emigration from Ireland over the past 150 years. Cobh was the last port of call for the Titanic and other liners that brought emigrants to the new world.
Then we drive to the charming town of Kinsale and check into our waterside hotel before dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Wed, June 14 - Enchanting Kinsale
Kinsale is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever encountered in my fifty years playing music all over the world. I can’t wait to share this slice of heaven with you. This morning, we will embark on a brief walking tour with a local guide to learn about its colorful history. With its narrow streets and quirky shop fronts, Kinsale remains a favorite for artists.
We’ll visit Charles Fort, which was constructed in the late 17th century and has been associated with some of the most momentous events in Irish history. The remainder of the day is free for independent activities and dining. This evening, I’ll do an acoustic concert at a beautiful venue where I’ll joined by some very special guest musicians from the local area.
Thur, June 15 - Blarney Castle & Trad on the Prom
Today we drive to Blarney, where you can climb the battlements of Blarney Castle and kiss the famous Blarney Stone. Enjoy the beautiful castle grounds and do a little shopping at Blarney Woollen Mills.
Then it’s off to my hometown of Galway, where after dinner we head to Trad on the Prom, a show rivaling Riverdance, that features the very best in Irish song & dance with many performers from the Riverdance cast.

Fri, June 16 - Clifden, Connemara and The Quays
After breakfast, travel through rugged and beautiful countryside to Connemara and Clifden We will be joined on the bus by my dear friend Gerry Hanberry, a renowned historian, poet and ballad singer. No doubt, we will be singing songs along the way as we enjoy the splendor of Connemara.
We return to Galway for an early dinner before my show at the Quays Bar in Galway city. It’s one of the finest venues in Ireland with a stage and ambiance that will blow your mind. I’ll have a full band with me and several guest performers.
Sat, June 17 - My Home Town!
This morning join a local guide for a gentle walking tour of the city. See the Medieval city walls, Lynch’s Castle and some of the places that helped shape my life in music. The remainder of the day is free for you to ramble, explore, shop and enjoy.
I’ll give you lots of things to do in Galway. I might even organize a music session in one of the pubs!
Sun, June 18 - Galway to Dublin
Leaving Galway, we travel across Ireland to the capital city of Dublin, founded by Vikings in the 9th century. Upon arrival, we set off on a sightseeing drive around the city center. Then we’ll check into our hotel in the heart of the city before dinner at a local restaurant.
Our hotel is perfectly located for you to ramble and sightsee and experience all that Dublin has to offer.
Mon, June 19 - Free time in Dublin & Temple Bar Concert
Enjoy the entire day to explore Dublin. There are wonderful museums of Irish interest such as the National Museum, the National Gallery or Epic Ireland. There are also plenty of shops, parks, pubs and of course the Guinness Brewery.
This evening I’ll have a full band for a special show in Temple Bar which is just a five-minute walk from our hotel. I’ll be joined by some of Ireland’s finest musicians as we pay tribute to some of my heroes such as Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison, the Cranberries and more.
